Bragg Jam is appealing to the entire family by hosting the Geico Arts & Kids on Saturday, July 25 along the beautiful Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. The FREE event takes place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. among the shade trees just past the Spring Street bridge.

Bragg Jam Arts & Kids invites families to create, perform and play in one of Macon's greatest areas of greenspace. Featuring art, food and beverage vendors, live music, community performances and nature-oriented activities for all ages. From magicians to african dance, life-size puppets to Pam Blanchard and the Sunny-Side Up Band, this will be a fun-filled day along the muddy waters of the Ocmulgee.

Kids activities will include a tie-dye station, face painting and sidewalk chalk art, rock wall, blow-up obstacle course, slide and moonwalk, and 30+ arts and crafts vendors.

 

ON THE COMMUNITY STAGE:

11a.m. - Noon:

African Hedgehog & more at Museum of Arts & Sciences Live Animal Show

Macon’s MAS will bring their live animal show to the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail for an interactive display and educational experience for all ages. All events at Bragg Jam’s Arts and Kids Festival are free of charge. Kids will learn the importance of snakes and how to identify venomous snakes found in Central Georgia, and will learn how to be a responsible pet owner.

 

Noon under the Big Tent:

Spaghetti Alley Presents a Spaghetti Eating Contest for all ages

Three age groups will battle it out for up to $100 in cash and gift certificates to Spaghetti Alley.
Ages 5-12: 1st place $35 cash, 2nd prize $25 GC, 3rd prize $15 GC
Ages 13-20: 1st place $50 cash, 2nd prize $25 GC, 3rd $15 GC
Ages 21 and up: 1st place $100 cash, 2nd prize $50 GC, 3rd $25 GC

 

Noon until 2p.m. on the Community Stage

Pam Blanchard & the Sunny-Side Up Band

Strolling Magician and Animal Balloons

The Geico Arts and Kids Festival along the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail is pleased to have Pam Blanchard and the Sunny-Side Up Band entertain children and their adults from noon until 2pm, Saturday, July 25 on the community stage. This famed Athens, GA band has been voted best Band for Kids for the past three years by Flagpole Magazine.

 

2:15 - 3p.m.

Magic Show & Old-Timey Variety Show

For over 10 years, Mark "The Magic Man" Hulett has been using his unique skills in entertaining with magic all over the Southeast. A balloon sculpturer, comedian and magician, Mark provides good clean fun for all ages and performs over 300 shows a year.

 

4p.m. - 5p.m.

Live Music provided by Gertrude's Mojo

Formed in the mid-1990's, these guys perform "Revved up roots music"

4-5p.m. Paint Out Display, 5pm: Awards Ceremony

The Paint Out is back, stroll along the riverwalk and watch artists complete a painting along the trail and vote for your favorite. Artists are asked to register in advance by calling 464-1840.
